Christmas Eve!

Tuesday, December 24th, is Christmas Eve, the perfect day for a Christmas Eve service! As is our wont, we start ours at 4:30 with half an hour of music, followed by the traditional Christmas Eve service itself. The half-hour prelude consists of seasonal music performed by a variety of people from the church, and always impresses me with the musical gifts God has given our congregation. Rumor has it there will even be some ukulele carols this year. How could anyone miss that?

The service this year alternates the reading of the Christmas story with carols related to each Scripture passage. We end with Silent Night sung a capella by candlelight—it’s a beautiful start to Christmastide.
